Lenovo ThinkPad X230 to the ThinkPad X240 Problems

As I have written previously, I am a ThinkPad user. I currently have the ThinkPad x230 and I eagerly await my ThinkPad X240.

However, I am concerned as I constantly go to the Lenovo.COM website and go to customize the ThinkPad X240 and find many of the customization's to change from time to time. Moreover, I am also questioning the ship date. It states on the website, estimated ship date 2015/01/01 and estimated delivery date 2015/01/08.

Ship date states 2015/01/01

I have tried to call them but they are very busy. Hopefully, I will find out soon. But in any event, I have customized my ThinkPad X240 with 8GB PC3-12800 DDR3L (1 DIMM), now on the website, it is only allowing you to configure 4 GB total memory. Not realy sure what the problem is?

Only Memory Size coming up in customization is 4 GB, But I ordered 8GB

Lenovo Thinkpad T440s vs Thinkpad X240 vs Current Thinkpad X230, Will my Performance Improve?

I am a Thinkpad User. I love the durability and excellent customer service. I started with the I Series, then I believe a few different of the Z60 series, T40, T41, T60p, W500, X230, X240 and now I have returned my x240 before receiving it as a week later the T440s came out which features pretty much everything I was looking for.

An ultra book with Intel  i7 Haswell processor, HD 1080 from Thinkpad and a Solid State Hard Drive. It is about time that they came out with a powerful machine with an HD Multi-touch display. I will have to wait for it to come in.

But I was thinking, I am currently using a Thinkpad X230 which does have Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3520M CPU @ 2.90GHz processor 8 GB Ram and I am running some memory intensive software including Adobe CS6 Design and Web Premium, Avid Technology: Pinnacle Studio 16, Microsoft Office  2014 Professional Plus  to name a few.

The new system I have ordered has the following Hardware Configuration.

I wonder, will I really  see a significant improvement in Performance moving from the Lenovo Thinkpad X230 to the Lenovo Thinkpad T440s?

What do you think?

I am running intensive software for my current configuration, but wish to know if it is worth the upgrade.
